Jessie the Yodeling Cowgirl Costume

Written on February 26, 2012 at 17:51, by

I’ve meaning to post this since a few weeks back but… darn… hadn’t taken a picture of Marysa in her Jessie costume and so I kept postponing it. Now on the very last day of the carnival season, I am about to talk about my experience DIMing (Doing It Myself that is) this costume. Read more

Project re-style: Cover for ironing press

Written on February 3, 2012 at 13:14, by

Ironing has been an issue for the last year, since our fourth family member came about. Mommy dear endowed me with her old ironing press, very rarely used but certainly not well handled… Mom and her ironing press didn’t really get along throughout the years and so it ended up in our home with a more than half-burnt cover, ripped foam bed and destroyed aluminum layer. Written on December 19, 2011 at 13:44, by

Okay, the financial crisis is here to stay, at least at this part of the neighborhood, and I’ve got a new house to decorate (yes, it does take time, so even 6 months after the move I still get to fix bits and pieces, with two babies there’s no other way to do it!), thus I need to become more resourceful and take action from supplies already available. Project Re-style: Hack my Renate

Written on December 16, 2011 at 20:16, by

I’ve been trying to find a cute black and white patterned lamp shade to match my red and b/w living room. My friend Giannina had a wonderful idea: I got the Renate from Ikea, an off-white shade made of fabric with punched see-through flowers on it and had the flowers coloured with my Sharpies in black and a tiny splash of red somewhere in between. Project Restyle my Billy

Written on September 30, 2011 at 19:54, by

I’ve talked about Elsie’s Project Restyle before and how much I love the idea of repurposing or restyling and customizing some dull-looking object. I’ve been meaning to hack an Ikea item for the longest time. Read more
